Job summary
The East of England Neurosurgery Network (EoE NN) is hosted by Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) and is the region's Neurosurgery Clinical Network. It was launched in October 2023 and is a specialised service clinical network. Its triple aim is to improve quality, reduce inequalities, and to improve value of neurosurgical management across the eastern region.
As the East of England Neurosurgery Network Patient Engagement Lead (Regional Clinical Research strategy), you will be responsible for at least two of the network's six workstreams in the 2024/5 financial year; Patient and Participant Voice (PPV) and Research and medical technology. Supported by the Network Manager and Network Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for work programmes that address local, regional, and national priorities. Specifically, you will prepare and lead PPV and Clinical Research strategies in collaboration with the Network Board, focusing on patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
Co-creation, delivery, and management of the East of England Neurosurgery Network (EoE NN) PPV engagement plan.
Draft of a network-specific Research Strategy including access and participation in clinical trials (encouraging patient participation in national, regional, and local research across relevant clinical disciplines, including dissemination of findings).
Supporting early and systematic adoption of innovation and research across the network.
Additional responsibilities, flexible to the candidate's experience include:
Analysis of population service needs, supported by gap analysis.
Analysis of workforce training needs, including contribution to an annual network training plan.
The role will focus on transformational change and quality improvement through effective and sustainable approaches, as outlined in the Neurosurgery Network Specification.
