About the role:


The Donor Coordinator II is responsible for the management of a donor/s through the donation program from the point of Registration to the End of Quarantine.

The Donor Coordinator II is responsible for fulfilling all the clinical and legal requirements for donors as per the HFEA Code of Practice and London Sperm Bank SOP's.

The Donor Coordinator is responsible for providing high standards of care and service to donors.

Job specification:

  • Conduct Donor Registration Appointments
  • Communicate legal requirements, rules, and regulations thoroughly to ensure that consent is fully informed.
  • Guide Donors through consent form content and ensure accurate completion.
  • Conduct First Donation Appointments and subsequent Regular Donation appointments
  • Ensure Donors are walked through correct witnessing steps.
  • Liaise with clinical team (genetic counsellors, counsellors, phlebotomists, and consultants) to organise and manage clinical appointments and necessary outcomes.
  • Review medical history questionnaires to ensure suitability of sample for production and advising donors on adverse answers.
  • Signing off relevant screening results and followups and managing the clinical response to adverse outcomes with Quality Management Lead.
  • Ensure booking of all relevant and required appointments for donors and maintain follow ups to ensure attendance and completion of programme.
  • Complete all required documentation and filing for donors in appropriate areas.
  • Conduct all other appointments and ensure all relevant and required information and documentation is communicated to donor and recorded on our systems
  • End of Screening Appointment, Start of Quarantine Appointment, End of Quarantine Appointment.
  • Review Donors performance and interpret semen analysis data to tailor donor programme to their specific needs i.e., taking recovery breaks with Donor Coordination Lead.
  • Work part of the Donor Coordination Team and Laboratory Team to ensure accurate data recording across relevant platforms for statistical analysis.
  • Monitor Donor communications systems (Salve/ CRM) and respond to clinical and nonclinical donor queries in a timely manner with Donor Coordination Lead.
  • Work closely with Donor Coordination Lead to ensure smooth overall donation experience.
  • Assist with relevant department audits as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of HFE Act and HFEA Code of Practice (preferred)
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in life / medical science or equivalent.
