Job Title: Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust

Job Summary: In this role, you will provide specialized Speech and Language Therapy Services to children with speech, language, communication, and feeding needs, and their families within the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust area.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • The post holder collaborates with the HDFT Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team within HDFT Specialist Children's Services, offering clinical support to Band 5 therapists and supervision to a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.
  • Independently manage and provide a specialist SLT service for children aged 0 to 19 years with speech, language communication, and feeding needs.
  • If qualified, provide dysphagia support to the caseload.
  • Allocate clients, design therapy programs, and provide clinical support and supervision to a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.
  • Establish and maintain the quality of the Paediatric SLT service through best practices and clinical governance.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Speech and Language Therapy graduate with HCPC membership.
  • Relevant experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Experience in school and pre-school settings.
  • Car driver.

Desirable:

  • Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and use of Systm1.
  • Accredited dysphagia qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience of EHCP process.
