Job Title: Project Leader – Designer Management

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Salary : Negotiable, depending on experience and skills

What you'll be doing:

  • This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead, develop and manage a team of Designers working on US design products
  • You will be at the helm of the group, utilising your experience in leading a team to conduct Personal Development Reviews and Coaching of group members to drive up the teams performance and morale
  • Collaborate in regular meetings with Internal and External Stakeholders, ranging from members of departments within Planning, Supply Chain and Operations to members from MOD
  • Responsibility for change assessment, part drawing creation and maintenance for US derived parts, supporting the application of multi boat for the US design and provide general SQEP guidance in the consumption of US design
  • Review the groups performance, explore areas that could be improved, bringing forward fresh, innovate ideas to ensure Quality and Delivery of our products are meeting standard

Your skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of Engineering systems design and the applicable of various design standards (both UK and US)
  • In depth knowledge of the UK/US design programmes in particular US kit structure and manufacture
  • Proficient use of Team centre PLM and visualisation
  • Good knowledge of all engineering disciplines
  • HND minimum in appropriate engineering discipline

The Trident team:

The Trident engineering team works within the Dreadnought programme, this is a multi-discipline team responsible for the consumption and configuration management of the US design into the UK. The design team will contain mechanical, electrical and structural design covering a large and varied scope of design. You will work closely with the wider UK design team but also closely with the customer organisation and US design agent. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
