Bar Supervisor

Deputising for the Bar Manager, ensuring customer requirements are met at all times, and maintaining all stock relating to the bar.


30hrs per week - Salary £21,500

DUTIES

  • Deputise for the Bar Manager, leading the team in his/her absence.
  • Working alongside the Bar Supervisor to ensure that the bar is operational on a daily basis.
  • Assisting with operations and maintaining/ordering stock for running the bar.
  • Using the inhouse bookings system to enable forward planning for events and event setup.
  • Following Health and Safety, and COSHH guidelines in relation to bar and club procedures.
  • Knowledge of how tills, credit card systems and JONAS diary work, giving training to staff when necessary.
  • Cashing up tills at the end of shift and depositing with the accounts team. Monitoring any float and ensuring the balance is correct for the following shift.
  • Attending weekly Food & Beverage meetings to ensure the smooth running of sailing and catering events.
  • Monitoring staffing levels to always ensure the correct coverage of staff.
  • To assist with the ongoing training of bar staff in line with the Food & Beverage SOP's.
  • Basic cellar management changing barrels/kegs, cleaning lines, keeping stock areas clean and tidy. Wearing appropriate PPE when required.
  • Maintaining the high cleanliness levels of the bar and keeping all Food & Beverage areas clear and tidy at all times.
  • Dealing with any customer complaints in a professional and polite manner, referring onto the Bar Manager/General Manager when necessary.
  • Locking/alarming the building at the end of the shift.
  • Follow relevant licensing laws with regards to serving alcohol, with Challenge 25 in mind.
  • Be aware of fire procedures, regulations and evacuation procedures for the Club.
  • GDPR be aware of procedures/and changes in relation to the Club and act in accordance with these guidelines.
Although the above covers the vast majority of the job, this may change going forward as the job evolves.

There will also be times when the Club is busy, or when there is a big event, or when there are staff shortages where you will be called upon to support other members of staff with their workload.
