Data Compliance and Audit Analyst

To be the lead in ensuring that funding claims and supporting documentation is fully compliant with funding bodies rules.

Ensure the accurate, timely and audit compliant submission of the College Student Data via the monthly Individual Learner Record (ILR).The role will include updating ProGeneral and ProAchieve with the ILR file and establish and maintain a data quality cycle.

Key Responsibilities of a Data Compliance and Audit Analyst

  • Validate all student and course data to ensure it is appropriately funded and the returns are optimised.
  • To produce and monitor daily ILRs and resolve discrepancies.
  • To lead on ensuring a suite of reports and guidance are produced to ensure the quality of all data.
  • To support with the management of Apprenticeship data to ensure maximum quality.
  • Lead on developing and implementing an internal audit procedure and cycle in relation to ILR, course data and college registers in ensure compliance
  • To work with various teams across the College to ensure that the ILR and other statistical returns are accurate and meet imposed deadlines
  • To assist the Information & Audit team in maintaining and archiving all relevant documentation to use as auditable evidence to support claims for funding and other purposes.
  • To ensure compliance with the requirements of funding bodies/internal auditors and inspectors and demonstrate the prompt resolution of any issues.
  • To understand the ESFA 's current and future methodologies, funding mechanism and the ILR return process. To keep up to date with emerging methodologies and policies and to give guidance to College staff.
  • To ensure that system and user documentation is complete, accessible and uptodate.
  • To contribute to a climate of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Commit to the College child protection policy and promote a safe environment for children and young people learning within the College. This includes undertaking a Criminal Records Bureau check for this post.
  • Be alert to any indication or allegation of abuse and take appropriate action under the College procedures for the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Promote equality of opportunity and diversity in all aspects of the job and to challenge inequality and discrimination.
  • Support the College management in all health and safety matters and take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (e.g. Data Protection Act, Copyright, etc).
  • Undertake other duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope and objectives of the post.
Key Competencies of a Data Compliance and Audit Analyst

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • GCSE or equivalent Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
  • Experience of analysing complex data and producing high level reports
  • Knowledge of data validation software (PDSATs)
  • Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality about personal data.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with regard to MS Office
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using student records systems and investigating and reporting from these using Microsoft Access, Excel, DSATs, ProAchieve etc. for the management of data
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt quickly and efficiently to a variety of working situations.
  • Ability to deliver under at pace and to deadlines without supervision, demonstrating a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and customer focussed motivating and supporting colleagues in a team environment.
