Keynsham, Bath and North East Somerset, United Kingdom Bath and North East Somerset Council Full time

At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose to improve people's lives.

About the Team

Are you someone who is comfortable using digital and IT, looking for a fresh challenge? Can you combine attention to detail with excellent customer service?

Then a role with our Revenues team may just be right for you.

We are a highly successful unitary Local Authority, responsible for delivering a wide range of vital public services, from highways management to complex social support. Within a professional Finance Service, the Revenues Team is responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates and Business Improvement District Levy and we work proactively to support the changing needs of the organisation to ensure the best possible experience for all customers.

About the Role

We are hiring for two roles, one within the Recovery team and one within the Council Tax team.

These key roles will give you the chance to make a real contribution to improving the collection of revenue. Directly responsible to the Team Leader, you will work in a team to develop the service and provide information to finance colleagues and others.

We know you keep a close eye on the specifics, so you'll want to read through our job description and person specification to learn more about what's involved and the skills we're looking for.

About You

You will be a reliable and conscientious person, with a good work ethic and a keen attention to detail. You will ideally have some experience of working in a team and providing an excellent service to others. You will be patient and diplomatic, with an ability to negotiate on all levels to gain the best possible solution for both Customer and Service, with an ability to use initiative to solve both expected and unexpected problems as well having the ability to use IT systems to interpret and input data and information accurately.

You'll relish a new challenge and find opportunities to make a difference whilst being comfortable working flexibly and communicating by telephone and digital channels. This post offers the chance to develop your key skills and opportunities to contribute to improving our performance and ample scope to develop as a member of the service.

If you are interested in this post and require more details or just to chat through the role and what's involved, please contact Bethany Marwood, or Donna Francis, or call
