Quality Control Team Leader

More about the Role


The QC Team Leader will manage and schedule testing, analysis and data monitoring of Victrex raw materials, process streams and products according to business needs.

In addition to reviewing and reporting laboratory performance to the wider operations group to reflect the required business metrics. Highlighting and escalating issues as required and implementing all associated improvement activities.

You will coordinate relevant activities with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to ensure full production plan attainment. Alongside managing all required outsourced QC testing with external partners to maintain compliance of Victrex products with international standards. As QC Team Leader you will monitor relevant processes and identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement. This position will contribute to the design and implementation of Quality Control continuous improvement programmes.


As part of the role you will manage relevant team resources and implement defined competency standards to ensure provision of reliable and compliant analytical services.

This position will have up to 12 direct reports.

You will provide developmental roadmaps for team members in line with the competency matrix, using the required training understanding to develop a more flexible cross lab QC department.


The QC Team Leader will be responsible for the management of lab procurement activities to guarantee the provision of analysis to the business.

Activities to span lab consumables through to CAPEX requests and implementation. Implement and control SHE and housekeeping standards for individual laboratories.

Your Experience


We are looking for someone with a strong working knowledge of applied chemistry or materials science in an analytical environment.

You will have good team working skills with proven experience of leading teams. Organisational skills are required to enable the management and prioritisation of a time critical workload.

HND/degree or equivalent experience in a science related discipline is essential to be successful in this role. Being a trained auditor in ISO 9001, IATF16949 would be desirable.
