Your new role:

To provide delivery and maintenance of Network Occupancy schedules.

In this fast-paced role, you will join as part of a close-knit team responsible for managing roadworks on the strategic road network, along-side Senior Network Planning.

You will be based in our Sandy Depot, in Bedfordshire, on a blended working pattern - this will include
2 days in office and 3 days home working.


What you'll be leading on:

  • To undertake the timely and accurate collation and recording of network occupancy, in order to ensure that road space pace bookings can be managed in a way that minimises disruption to customers and maximises operational delivery.
  • To proactively analyse the effectiveness of existing plans and arrangements in meeting service level expectations and identify opportunities for improvement; escalate risks and issues that affect delivery.
  • To proactively liaise with regional Operations colleagues (e.g. Service Delivery and Scheme Delivery) and wider internal and external stakeholders to optimise network availability and minimise the impact of planned and unplanned activities on customers.
  • To deliver timely and accurate engagement, communications and updates to stakeholders regarding network occupancy including preparation of management reports, debriefs and lessons learnt.
  • To implement continuous improvement initiatives within own area of responsibility.
  • To ensure that any relevant information, documents, materials, service delivery manuals, requirements and guidance are kept up to date and accessible to the wider regional teams.
  • To undertake management of Abnormal Loads and Utilities requests in the region, ensuring relevant procedures are followed, impacts managed and stakeholders informed.
  • To take responsibility for the health and safety of the wider teams and yourself by challenging, reporting and acting on any unsafe activities or conditions.

To be successful:

  • Experience of road space planning procedures and systems, understanding of road space planning objectives, abnormal loads protocols and procedures, and relevant technology systems. (Essential)
  • Previous experience in highway maintenance and/or technical administration.
  • Demonstrate strong Stakeholder Management throughout professional career.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills throughout professional career.
  • Proficiency in IT Systems, Data and information management and distribution
