What is the opportunity?

We are currently recruiting for an analyst to join Project Finance Portfolio Management team within the European Structured Finance Division in Mizuho bank.

Our Project Finance Portfolio Management team is responsible for credit risk management and administration activities for a diverse portfolio of transactions in the renewable energy, power, natural resources and infrastructure/PPP sectors.

This role will involve high quality administrative work across the portfolio with a view to supporting other team members and the Department Head with their day to day duties.

This role will also deliver internal project work on strategic initiatives for the team including but not limited to management information processing and process streamlining initiatives as required by the Department Head.

What will you be doing?

1. Maintaining overall portfolio database identifying and addressing discrepancies

2. Developing spreadsheets for ad hoc exposure updates and team static data updates for both within London Branch & with wider EMEA region.

3. Maintaining diary of key internal portfolio deadlines

4. Support Account Banking activities across the portfolio, including maintenance of signature mandates and handling of basic customer electronic banking queries/processes when requested by customers

5. Understand and comply with the bank's policy and procedures on regular reporting practices such as Anti Money Laundering / KYC / Compliance issues, mandate workflows, etc.

6. Careful and timely processing of ad hoc internal reporting within and outside ESFD

7. Assist other team members with covenant monitoring entries into relevant system and systems update

8. Building and maintaining excellent working relationships within wider Structured Finance Department and other internal departments including Compliance and Back Office functions.

9. Fulfil other tasks relevant to the role as requested by the Head of Department, including assistance for/collaboration with other team members with the interface with key external and internal Project Stakeholders (including Sponsors, Borrowers, Project Managers, external advisers, other financial institutions, Bank Senior Management, Credit Departments, Treasury, Loan Admin and other internal departments as required).

What do you need to succeed?

Essential


• Minimum 2 A levels


• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions, Data management and data manipulation)


• PowerPoint skills, Access database skills also useful


• Previous administrative experience within the financial services industry


• Strong communicative and interpersonal skills and flexibility.


• Good time management and be able to prioritise tasks/meet deadlines, work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously


• Able to ensure accuracy, even when performing routine tasks and demonstrate attention to detail.


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Degree qualified


• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative, when necessary


• Good financial analysis skills and/or accounting knowledge
