There's more to being a driver than simply sitting behind the wheel.

As a driver for St Marys Hospital in Warrington, you'll be ensuring the service run smoothly as you transport your team and service users to a variety of locations within the community and are collected on time.


You will work 30 hours per week on a 12 month basis alongside the team at St Marys Hospital, where there is a large emphasis on teamwork and support.

You'll be encouraged to reach your full potential and will have the opportunity to develop your skillset as you will support other departments within the hospital including Maintenance.

As a Driver, you will be responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and record-keeping of the vehicle. You will have a clean and full UK driving license for at least 2 years. You will work a variety of shift patterns which includes 6am starts and weekends.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive patients and staff to a variety of different locations, ensuring that the journey is completed in a safe and timely manner, using the most efficient route.
  • Drives staff and other visitors to/from the unit as required by the Line Manager. Collect and delivers consumables or assets for the Unit during periods of the day when not involved in other activities.
  • Ensure that the Hospital vehicles are cleaned regularly, maintained correctly and safely and that any damage or faults are dealt with immediately and reported to the Support Services Manager.
  • Ensure that vehicles are fuelled at all times and recordkeeping is kept up to date and available when requested.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A full and clean UK driving license for a min of 2 years
  • Due to insurance purposes you must be 21 or older
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
