Purpose:

  • Responsible for ensuring food safety, legality, authenticity and quality are maintained on site.
  • Responsible for effectively managing the QA department.
  • Responsible for helping to build a strong food safety and quality culture on site.

Key skills and competences:

  • Previous Supervisory experience beneficial.
  • Forward thinking & be able to prioritise workload.
  • Have excellent written and communication skills.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft packages).
  • Hold a professional approach to work, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

The Role:

To be part of a team of people who are responsible for the following:

  • To ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with customer and company specifications and meets all defined quality parameters.
  • To undertake internal audits, Hygiene and GMP audits. This must be completed to a high standard, reporting issues with the relevant Area Manager and to the QA Manager.
  • To make recommendations for improvements and updates to all procedures and documents held within the quality manual, QA, factory methods and procedures. The senior QA is expected to ensure that corrective actions are completed to a high standard to prevent reoccurrence.
  • To suggest ongoing system improvements where nonconformances or weakness are identified. Where requested, assistance in the company's systems review process will be required.
  • To ensure that all product produced on site is safe, legal and of the correct quality.
  • To aid with, perform or verify required quality, legality and food safety checks, ensuring they are being carried out in accordance with Company Quality Systems & Procedures.
  • To ensure that whenever necessary, all documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with site quality procedures.
  • To ensure compliance with all record systems (paperwork/ electronic).
  • To aid with internal site auditing as required, with resolution of audit findings.
  • To provide training to department on QA standards or matters as and when required.
  • Monitoring factory cleaning and hygiene to ensure that high standards are met and to perform daily factory hygiene and personnel hygiene checks. To ensure that the standard of cleaning and hygiene within the factory is maintained at high levels.
  • To assist with customer visits ensuring that all relevant documentation is available and is up to date. To ensure any action points agreed are followed through and completed satisfactorily within the agreed time scales.
  • To carry out any other duties which are reasonably requested.

Salary:
Up to £30,000.00 per year
