What you'll be doing:


- Providing leadership for the engineering design and implementation approach across the Combat Systems portfolio and product strategies, with a strong focus on customers, theaters, and markets.
- Collaborating with delivery leads to establish Combat Systems Engineering strategies that maintain technology and capability coherence, offering thought leadership to customers and supply chain.
- Utilizing business forecasting in engineering disciplines to ensure the right capabilities support programs effectively.
- Assuming the role of Product Technical Authority for the Combat Systems portfolio, systematizing and sustaining preferred combat systems options.
- Building and fostering the integrity of the Engineering discipline and nurturing relationships with Customers, Platform Chief Engineers, partners, and supplier organizations.
- Engaging in recruitment and career development of Naval Ships Combat System Technical Authorities through mentoring and coaching.
- Maintaining connections with academic partners to elevate the visibility of Naval Ships within the student and lecturer communities.
- Holding Engineering Design Authority for the Combat System Portfolio delegated from the Naval Ships Engineering Director.
- Implementing processes for Engineering assurance activities and responsibilities.
- Participating in Lifecycle Management and Design Reviews.
- Mentoring and supporting the Delegated Design Authorities.
- Promoting Professional Registration and collaborating with key Professional Engineering Institutions.
- Estimating, planning, and managing the engineering service delivery from the Naval Ships Engineering Functional Team.
- Overseeing the engineering content of all bids in the Combat System Portfolio.

Your skills and experiences will include:

- Chartered Engineer with IET or INCOSE certification.
- Operational naval deployment experience with exposure to CONOPS and doctrine.
- Strong background in Systems Engineering Development, integration, and test at both equipment and mission system levels.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead the engineering team.
- Proficiency in cross-discipline, agile, and concurrent development lifecycle.
- Building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders.
- Mentoring and coaching engineers to help them progress in their careers.
- Implementing processes for engineering assurance activities.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Keeping updated with the latest engineering technologies and practices.
- Encouraging professional registration within engineering institutions.
