Career Opportunity: Assistant Head of Year (non-teaching)

Career Teachers has a new opening for a proactive Assistant Head of Year to join the pastoral team of a secondary School in Sandwell.

This is a full-time position to start immediately.

You will work with a secondary school in Sandwell committed to providing high-quality education for pupils of different ages. They are dedicated to ensuring every child receives top-notch education in a supportive and inspiring environment, fostering excellent outcomes.

Under the guidance of the Head of Year, you will offer support across different year groups to maintain high levels of punctuality and attendance at all times.

You will also be responsible for managing student behavior, addressing learning obstacles, motivating children, and reengaging pupils with education.

This is a full-time temporary role starting immediately, Monday to Friday, until July 2024.

This role is highly rewarding as each day presents unique challenges.

We are looking for passionate, caring, and resilient individuals who are eager to make a positive impact.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with children, young people, and families
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies

  • Remain calm and resilient under pressure
  • High levels of empathy, care, compassion, and active listening
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and professional in approach
  • Strong administrative skills

  • Hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or willing to undergo a new check
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training
  • Ability to provide at least 2 recent employment references covering the last 2 years
