Job summary

1 x hours (Fixed Term) per week at Lincoln or Boston.

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Cancer Pathway Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of the Cancer Services Department, the post holder will engage with and work alongside the Cancer Pathway Coordinator, Clinical Divisions, senior medical Staff, nursing staff, other health care professionals and partner organisations within the Network across the patient journey.

The post holder will assist the Cancer Pathway Co-ordinators in their pivotal role of supporting the cancer teams through tracking patients along their pathway, co-ordinating hospital appointments, investigations and their treatment as well as co-ordinating the cancer multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs).

Main duties of the job

Applicants should have at least GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at GradeC or above. Experience of using Microsoft Office is essential. The successful candidate will be able to work both on their own initiative and effectively within a large team. They need to be able to adapt to the changing needs of the service whilst working to meet tight deadlines. It is essential to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, together with accuracy and attention to detail. An awareness of National Cancer Waiting Times Targets and knowledge of hospital / clinical information systems is also desirable.

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent)

Desirable

A level or NVQ III in Business Administration or equivalent experience acquired through patient administration Information and computing qualification

Previous Experience

Essential

Experience of using Microsoft Office - to include Word, Excel and Outlook

Desirable

Experience of working in the NHS Experience of using Primary Treatment Lists (PTLs)
