If so, we are currently seeking a PVU Engineer to join our busy and innovative team at the Port of Dover. This is your opportunity to be part of a leading international ferry port that connects the UK to the world.

As a PVU Engineer, you will be at the heart of our Marine team, responsible for the safe maintenance and operation of all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on our vessels. You will provide technical advice and support to the Master to ensure safe operations, meticulously maintain relevant logbooks and technical records, and ensure clear and effective communication with our shore-based Superintendent. Your expertise will not only keep our operations running smoothly but also contribute to our vision of a seamless, sustainable, and tech-enabled port.

Hours of Work: Shift pattern of week on week off (days and nights)

PVU Engineer Requirements:

  • Minimum STCW Certificate 111/2 Chief Engineer Motor < 6,000KW near-coastal
  • Minimum of 3 years service as 2nd Engineer
  • Good working knowledge of the ISM code, Health & Safety Legislation and MARPOL
  • Excellent maintenance and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience of working on small vessels
  • Computer literate and able to work PM systems and other programmes with training
  • Physically able to carry out routine maintenance tasks
  • Experience of hydraulic and electrical engineering (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of tugs and dredgers and the systems commonly found onboard (desirable)
  • STCW Certificate 111/2 Chief Engineer Motor Unlimited (desirable)
