Audit & Accounts Manager

Hours: Monday to Friday

Based on site, with occasional travel to clients' offices, Herts, Essex and sometimes London.

Currently, they are looking to expand their audit and accounts team by bringing in an Audit and Accounts Manager. In this role, you'll be supporting the Audit and Accounts Department to facilitate future succession and growth plans, reporting to 3 directors.

As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you'll be at the forefront, guiding the team, including mentoring apprentices and aiding in their training. You'll also be responsible for maintaining workflow efficiency, ensuring audit work is completed promptly and effectively. Additionally, you'll play an integral role in the management team, working towards overall growth goals while fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.

Responsibilities: Audit & Accounts Manager

  • Manage a portfolio of clients
  • Deliver audit, accounting and tax compliance services to a range of clients including sole traders and limited companies
  • Prepare statutory and management accounts
  • Prepare personal and corporation tax returns
  • Undertake VAT work
  • Handle bookkeeping and management accounts
  • Mentor, support, and offer guidance to the apprentice team

Skills / Experience: Audit & Accounts Manager

  • ACCA or ACA qualified with over 2 years post qualification experience. Previous Audit Practice experience and adeptness in multitasking are preferred
  • Experience in auditing groups is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical skills to business challenges
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences
  • Keen attention to detail and strong interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with diverse reporting and data systems
  • Located conveniently for commuting and possessing a valid driving license
  • Client-focused skills and willingness to represent the business at local events
  • Well-rounded skill set encompassing communication, analytical, numerical, and IT skills adaptable to a growing business environment
