Work-based learning means hands-on experience, tailored to suit you. On our 5 year programmes you'll learn skills you can only get on the job. And most importantly, you'll be working towards a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ).

What will you be doing?

  • During this 5 year programme, you'll be learning everything you need to know about how we provide our customers with high quality and safe drinking water, protecting public health and the environment in the process. You'll be mainly working in our laboratories as part of an expert and experienced team who will support you to develop your skills and knowledge and achieve a nationally recognised qualification. This is your chance to learn as you earn, working with industryleading teams to help deliver services that are essential to the daily lives of the people of Scotland.

  • We're keen to meet applicants from all backgrounds who are selfmotivated, team players who are practical, well organised and good problem solvers with a positive attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative. You'll have five National 4 or 5 Qualifications (three of which should be English, Maths and Science). Ideally you'll also have two Highers (or equivalent) or a relevant technical qualification or relevant technical experience (min of 1 year) and hold a full current UK driving licence (or learning, fast).
