Job Description:

Location:
Croydon

We are a multi-site practice service 14,000 patients within the locality of New Addington. There are three surgeries in the area all within one mile of each other.

East site has free road-side parking available, with a patient car park at our larger site within Parkway Health Centre.

All practices are accessible via the M25, just 7 miles from the busy Croydon town centre.

There are a vast amount of transport links available, including multiple busses to transport to Bromley, Biggin Hill, Croydon and surrounding areas as well as the Croydon Tramlink, serving Wimbledon, Beckenham and Elmers End.

We are a short distance from our local community centre which offers a variety of services to the local residents, including citizens advice services, benefit and welfare advice, food bank services and legal/ employment aid.

Our main Parkway Health Centre site provides multiple services, including a GP hub, Midwife clinics, Paediatric services, District nursing among others.

There is an active PPG supporting the surgeries who are all extremely involved with the local community.

Our reception and administration teams are the first contact patients have with our services. These are important roles at the heart of the high-quality care we provide.

To be considered for this exciting role:

  • Reception or customer care experience is essential
  • The person must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written
  • Must be able to work within processes/procedures
  • Work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn and progress with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS is welcome but not essential.
  • The ability to communicate with a wide range of people in a kind, professional and caring way.

Overview of roles and responsibilities:

  • Responding to patient queries and liaising with the wider primary care team.
  • Managing appointment requests and signposting patients to our range of services.
  • Maintaining patient records and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Utilising other information systems to support efficient workflow processes.
  • Processing prescription requests in a timely manner.
  • Supporting patient health promotion recall campaigns.
  • Encouraging uptake of our digital tools to support patient selfcare.
  • Taking part in all mandatory training, annual appraisal and continued education, learning and development.
