We have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Surveyor to join our Living Space Planned team in the Hertfordshire area.

Our leading position within the maintenance sector has enabled the business to realise ambitious strategic growth.

Key Accountabilities will include:

  • Conducting subcontractor procurement exercises to obtain best value for Wates and its client. This would include the production of subcontractor documentation, produced to Wates framework standards.
  • Building up client quotations, using NHFv7 schedule of rates for submission.
  • Producing and submitting interim and final accounts to the client.
  • Evaluating and certifying Subcontractor payments through Wates ordering and financial systems.
  • Production and issue of client invoices.
  • Provide daily supervision of the Commercial Administrator, ensuring that tasks are complete.
  • Adhere to Wates industry leading health and safety guidelines.


We are looking for recent experience of working within Housing Maintenance; some Tier 1 Contractor experience; and experience using Impact Response and COINS (or similar systems).


To be successful in the role you will be able to communicate with all stakeholders and build credible, lasting relationships, and have a good work ethic and the ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of team.
