School Based Sports Coach

Sports Coach Required

Teaching Personnel has been approached by a specialist provision in Leyland which caters for pupils aged 11-16 with complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Many pupils who attend this school have not had a previously good experience atschool and have been persistently absent from education.

As a result, the pupils have large gaps in their learning and have low confidence levels in their academic ability.

As a sports coach you will be responsible for:

  • Helping pupils to engage with their learning
  • Be a learning coach and encourage pupils to engage with their education
  • Use sports as a tool to encourage pupils
  • Build positive relationships with pupils
  • Praise good behaviour
  • Deal with potentially difficult situations
The role will include using a person's sports background to help to build relationships with students.

The school seeks people with this background because people with this background display key competencies which are important to the school.

This role is starting as soon as possible.
