Sous Chef

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated chef to join us in our urban winery bar & kitchen in Walthamstow, E17.

The winery is a dramatic and unique venue and after using it for a series of pop-ups, we have made the food offering our own.

Renegade Urban Winery is an artisan wine producer based in London. The winery makes unique low intervention wines from grapes grown in the UK and around Europe. The E17 winery, where all the wine is made,hosts a bar, kitchen and events space.

The plan is to serve, honest, quality, low intervention (like our wine) food, to support the wine bar as the drinks we produce really need to be the star of the show.

The project includes corporate events and weddings where we produce fantastic experiences in house.

You will be aided by a the director of hospitality in all areas of the operation who has extensive experience as a chef and operator in the fine dining London scene, corporate events and a comprehensive knowledge of Renegade.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a sous chef or junior sous chef , keen to learn, develop themselves and who is looking to take the next step in their career.

It is a project first and foremost, but a fantastic opportunity for someone to grow alongside a young, exciting wine brand.

An interest in wine and a good knowledge of kitchen operations are key but most importantly an ability to self manage with high and consistent standards of both hygiene and product is essential.

Starting salary is £35k per annum with significant potential to be increased after a probationary period based on revenue and additional income (e.g. events & growth) with an achievable progression program put in place collaboratively with the successful candidates. We would be looking for them to start as soon as possible.
