About the role:

  • Be the designated Opiate Pain management Lead for the Service alongside clinicians.
  • Identify and engage with individuals dealing with substance misuse issues and complex physical and mental health needs, including co-morbidity.
  • Collaborate with GP surgeries and Pharmacies to offer guidance, training, and establish pathways to assist these groups.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and create recovery plans that clearly outline steps for addressing substance use effectively.
  • Manage a caseload of individuals using opiate-based pain medications and support them in their recovery journey.
  • Assist the Team leader in overseeing management activities, team meetings, as well as service development and promotion.
  • Regularly consult with service users to ensure service quality, and encourage their engagement to support staff.
  • Provide health education, particularly focusing on harm minimization, blood-borne viruses, and overdose prevention.
  • Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality protocols.

About you:

  • Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues with experience in a related field.
  • Familiarity with addiction to prescribed opiate-based medications and working with affected individuals.
  • Experience in multi-agency collaboration and forming partnerships with other professionals to benefit service users.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to both individuals and groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of IT proficiency.
  • Proficiency in managing a specialized caseload.
  • Experience in developing and conducting group sessions for service users and providing training for fellow professionals.
  • Outstanding team-working and interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve service objectives.
