About the role:


This is a unique opportunity to secure a training opportunity at a nationally recognised and award winning Arts Centre at the University of Leicester.

The successful applicant will have three days a week paid work as a Curatorial Trainee at the Attenborough Arts Centre working alongside the Visual Art Officer on the contemporary art exhibition programme this includes on the job training, mentoring and practical experience.


The paid position is funded by Arts Council England through the Attenborough Arts Centre National Portfolio funding and is for an initial fixed period up to the end of March 2025.


The scheme is designed to support people who have a strong desire to work in the gallery sector but may have found it difficult to secure experience or training.


About you:


Attenborough Arts Centre is a socially and civically-engaged public cultural venue based at the University of Leicester, producing visual arts, live performance, learning, community and research programmes.

We combine great cultural experiences by local, national and international artists with high quality community programmes to inspire everyone to become active participants in culture.

We collaborate with many local organisations to engage Leicester communities and with national partners to raise the profile of our work.

We aim to be a sector leader for inclusion and a centre of excellence for disability arts.

We anticipate that interviews will take place during the week commencing 18th March 2024.
