The Head of Operative Purchasing UK plays a critical role in managing day-to-day procurement activities to ensure the smooth operation of the company's supply chain.

This involves executing strategic sourcing initiatives, identifying cost-saving opportunities, consolidating suppliers, and optimizing procurement processes.

The role is crucial for maintaining the flow of materials, information, and finances from suppliers to customers, ensuring continuity of supply while minimizing costs and risks.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:
Lead, manage, train, and develop a team of Purchasing Experts

Quality Assurance:
Ensure quality purchase order output

Service Delivery:
Provide professional procurement services to local geographies

Process Improvement:
Develop and implement efficient procurement processes and strategies aligned with procurement objectives

Supplier Management:
Obtain quotes, evaluate suppliers, expedite goods/services, and maintain purchase orders

Dispute Resolution:
Provide clarifications and resolve disputes

Contract Negotiation:
Negotiate low to mid-value contracts

Compliance:
Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements

Market Research:
Conduct research to identify suppliers and negotiate contracts/terms

Performance Monitoring:
Monitor supplier performance, manage relationships, and enhance partnerships

Data Management:
Provide data for management information

Risk Mitigation:
Use procurement analytics for forecasting, risk identification, and mitigation

Sustainability:
Assist in implementing Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) criteria in procurement

Work Experience:
Proven track record in purchasing or procurementMedia industry expertise or specific commodity focus advantageousFamiliarity with procurement principles, practices, and methodologiesSourcing and contract negotiation skillsLeadership experience
