Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor or Teacher looking to step into a more strategic role that combines classroom-based responsibilities with organisational duties? Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a dynamic and organised Cover Coordinator to join a prestigious secondary school in Preston.


This full-time position, starting in September, offers a unique opportunity to manage the school's daily cover needs while also actively engaging in classroom supervision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and coordinate daily cover for absent teaching staff.
  • Contact and liaise with external agencies to book suitable cover staff.
  • Act as an internal Cover Supervisor, stepping into classrooms to ensure continuity of learning and effective classroom management.
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of cover requirements and assignments.
  • Communicate effectively with school leadership and staff to manage cover arrangements.
  • Support the development and implementation of efficient cover systems and processes.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teacher in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with staff and agencies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage changing daily demands.
  • A passion for education and the ability to engage and motivate students in the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
