Process Engineer Intern

Suiso is a new business that has developed an exciting methane pyrolysis technology that will transform the production, distribution and usage of Hydrogen, accelerating its adoption as a replacement for fossil fuels and becoming a key contributor in the fight against climate change. Hydrogen is poised to become a multitrillion-dollar market and Suiso's patented technology promises to produce the lowest cost hydrogen from natural or bio-gas with almost zero CO2 emissions and actually reduce CO2 emissions by producing a green solid Carbon co-product to replace the billions of tons of virgin Carbon consumed each year. Suiso will offer a range of modular production systems to the heating and transport sectors for the onsite generation of Hydrogen and will become a key enabler of the low Carbon Hydrogen economy which is essential to stopping further climate change.

The Role

We are seeking a Process Engineer intern to assist with the design and operation of Suiso's Hydrogen generators. The ideal candidate will have strong academic performance and an interest in Hydrogen.

Responsibilities

As part of the technical team, the Process Engineer intern's responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the engineering team to design and specify equipment for Suiso's Hydrogen generators.
  • Generation of process engineering drawings.
  • Fault finding process equipment.
  • Contacting suppliers for quotes for equipment.
  • Assist in the generation of procedures and risk assessment documentation.
  • Operating Suiso equipment in an R&D settings.
  • Analysing datalogger files to try and improve system performance.
  • Participate in H&S meeting and reporting potential issues/improvements in the companies H&S practices.

Qualifications, experience and skills

  • On track for a 2:1 or 1:1 bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Second or third-year student.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate research findings.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in operating process equipment (desired not required).

  • This is a paid full-time internship based in the Advanced Manufacturing Park near Sheffield.
  • All applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK.
  • This internship is scheduled to last for 10-12 weeks during the summer.
