Quality Engineer - Engineering - Croydon, Surrey £ £42000 plus benefits .

Hello Recruitment is pleased to be recruiting a Quality Engineer for a large engineering organisation based in Croydon, Surrey.

Core responsibilities

  • To support the Quality Manager and deputise in his absence. I.e., Hosting 3rd Party and Customer audits and reviews.
  • To assist in maintaining the Company Quality Management System and compliance with the appropriate national and international standards throughout the Company.
  • Complete internal audits as per the schedule and promptly produce the report.
  • Follow Up with internal departments regarding NCR's raised from External/Internal sources. Support departments as required using RCA tools.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and appraisals, if applicable.
  • Maintenance of the calibration system and help manage the external calibration service provider.
  • Support Mechanical Inspector regarding inspection of machined and/or fabricated parts.
  • Development and implementation of process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Controlling the release of technical documents to production.
  • To perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
  • Working with engineering on controlled test specifications/procedures.
  • Presentations to the workforce on Quality Processes.
  • Managing the quarantine area, ensuring parts are actioned within a suitable timeframe by the relevant departments.
  • Manage the workshop audit schedule with the auditors and ensure findings are communicated to relevant managers and recorded on the NCR database.
  • Drafting Quality Plans and Method Statements as required.
Professional Experience, Education & Specific Skills, and Knowledge

  • Educated to degree / HNC level within a Mechanical Engineering background
  • Engineering / technical background including knowledge of engineering / Railway Group standards.
  • Extensive experience of quality systems in a safety critical engineering environment.
  • ISO9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certified.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance techniques and the ability to make recommendations to management.
Must be able and willing to work in various and sometimes challenging environments.

Candidate must be adaptable and open minded, able to engage with diverse teams constructively and should face new challenges as a learning and growth opportunity always seeking positive outcomes.

New Employees must pass a Drugs and Alcohol related Medical upon starting within the Company.

Package Details:

  • * Permanent Contract
  • Monday – Thursday, 8:30am to 16:30pm, Friday 8:30am – 15:30pm a 36.5 hour working week.
* £36k – £42k (dependent on experience)

  • Annual Bonus (pro rata on year of joining)
* 20 days holiday (pro rata on joining)
