Job summary

OurReceptionist/Administrator team undertake a wide variety of tasks including,checking patients in for their appointments, booking appointments, answeringtelephone queries andprocessing incoming and outgoing post.

The rolewould suit someone who is good at multitasking, problem solving with anempathetic nature, who has a passion for helping patients and providingexcellent customer service.

The reception team is currently made up of 8 staff members who cover the Outpatients activity at Dorking, Oxted and Redhill locations. With the addition of a new site in Epsom we are increasing the team. The role will predominantly cover our Epsom location, with travel to other sites as necessary. It is likely that more time will be spent outside Epsom initially as we work to launch the site and increase the number of clinics here.

The staffwork on a rota basis, which includes evenings and some weekends, the shiftpattern varies from week to week.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have previous patient or customer facingexperience and excellent communication skills.Within this fast-paced environment it is necessary to remain calm andmaintain a high level of attention to detail.

The successful applicant will be able to help manage the workloadefficiently and effectively on a daily basis to facilitate the patients carebeing as smooth and efficient as possible.

We will provide the training necessary to use our inhouse IT systems,however a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial. You will be required to maintain patientconfidentiality at all times.

Job responsibilities

The role of theReceptionist/Administrator is to provide reception services and administrativesupport to staff within the Outpatients Department. The role will be based at Epsom, Dorking, Redhill and Oxted as required. To undertake tasks essential to the smooth,effective provision of quality care and efficient level of service for patientsand their families. This will include covering the reception at DHC for someevenings and weekends on a rotational basis.

It isessential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement whilstmaintaining a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times withoutimmediate access to line supervision.
