Boroughwide Operations Manager

Our client is in need of an experienced Boroughwide Operations Manager within Street Operations Services.

The chosen candidate will step in for the Boroughwide Services Manager, overseeing an effective Waste Management and Cleansing Service, including staff deployment, plant and machinery coordination, and management of sub depots and stores.

Responsibilities include ensuring service levels align with Waste Management specifications, leading service transformation initiatives, managing work programs, monitoring service standards, and upholding health and safety procedures.

  • Develop and implement work programs, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Supervise staff deployment and performance, handling attendance, leave, training, and appraisals.
  • Manage disciplinary matters, conduct interviews, and oversee compliance with organizational procedures.
  • Ensure availability of resources for uninterrupted operations, troubleshoot service issues, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
  • Review and enhance service delivery, support staff development, and promote excellence across services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective waste management service.
  • Handle complaints, conduct quality and safety inspections, and implement technological solutions for efficiency and communication.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in leading teams towards service improvement.
  • Proficiency in key management skills application.
  • Familiarity with Waste Operations equipment and operations.
  • Ability to motivate and supervise teams for high performance.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and ensuring service compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client engagement.
  • Capacity to build effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Understanding of health and safety policies and compliance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in report and letter writing, MS Office, budget management, and pricing.
