This is an exciting opportunity to join an international law firm starting in their office in Manchester. They are recruiting for a Family Lawyer to be their head of department.

Your Role

  • Lead a team of junior solicitors in delivering key objectives, KPIs and departmental strategy and utilise regular review procedures to monitor and progress the strategic plan
  • Contribute to the development of the firm's Business Plan as required from time to time
  • Translate strategic goals into operational plans that can be delivered locally and nationally
  • Implement the Department business plan and provide assistance nationally where required
  • Coordination and where appropriate, conduct of the work within the team and department, ensuring that the allocation of work and resources is fair and consistent
  • Ensure that staff within the department for whom responsibility is held receive the relevant and necessary training required by them, with Firm assistance.
  • A strong background in family litigation and a detailed knowledge of family work
  • An ability to deal with clients in a sensitive, professional and competent way
  • An ability to work on your own initiative within a team environment to achieve results
  • Experience of managing a team of fee earners and support staff
  • Have empathy and good listening skill
  • Excellent IT skills, which include the ability to work with a case management system and databases
