Temp Material Planner (Gateshead) - £ £14.60 per hour

The Company:


A successful SME based in the Northeast, currently turning over around £24m per annum, are looking to recruit a Temp Material Planner to join their team in Gateshead.


Job Description of a Material Planner

  • Responsible for ensuring that the supply of materials meet the production schedule.
  • Create POs for the placement of orders with suppliers.
  • Creating order schedules and inbound delivery schedules for goods in team.
  • Perform data analysis and issue reports on supplier performance to ensure suppliers meet and maintain expected performance levels.
  • Deliver cost down and cost avoidance initiatives in support of the company's stock holding targets.
  • Complete monthly stock takes.
  • Support continuous improvements.

Skills & experience of a Material Planner

  • Previous experience of materials planning in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • A good working knowledge of purchase ordering systems and processes.
  • Well organised, disciplined, and selfmotivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Hands on, hardworking, motivated with a cando attitude.
  • Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and problemsolving skills.
  • Understanding of JIT ordering techniques.
  • Strong IT skills including Power Point, Excel, along with working knowledge of ERP MRP systems, would be desirable.
