You will play a crucial role in safeguarding DBT and the broader UK government against cyber threats in a dynamic and engaging position. As the primary support to the Senior Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Analyst and Principal Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Manager, you will collaborate with the SOC and technical teams to carry out operational threat and vulnerability management tasks and shape the growth of DBT's TVM program and capabilities. Demonstrating a healthy curiosity is key to actively uncovering potentially valuable insights for the team.
Job DescriptionMain Responsibilities
- Assisting in scoping and conducting penetration tests and vulnerability assessments on IT assets, as well as other evaluations to gauge system, product, or technology resilience.
- Proactively engaging in Structured Threat Hunting by identifying and utilizing threat intelligence sources to guide threat and vulnerability mitigation efforts.
- Performing thorough analysis on potential threats and attacks targeting DBT, and sharing actionable threat intelligence data with SOC members and technical teams.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to establish and prioritize tracked vulnerabilities aligned with organizational goals such as policy compliance.
- Applying DBT's vulnerability ratings to externally rated vulnerabilities for efficient remediation prioritization.
- Ongoing research on new and emerging vulnerabilities, including Zero Day events, and active participation in external security communities to share insights across security functions.
- Cultivating a deep understanding of DBT's Information Security Framework and industry best practices.
Key requirements include:
- Prior experience in an enterprise technology environment, preferably in Cyber Security.
- Familiarity with the Cyber threat landscape, threat actors' tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Vulnerability management principles.
- Proficiency in Threat hunting within a cloud-based setting, including the interpretation of device and application logs from diverse cloud sources to detect emerging threat trends and vulnerabilities.
- Understanding of industry frameworks and standards like NCSC pen test guidance, OWASP, CVSS, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience effectively.
