To build on recent examination success, Lostock Hall Academy is seeking to appoint an 'outstanding' teacher of English to join a highly successful team of experienced English teachers and to contribute towards the teaching and learning across the school.

If you possess a genuine passion for English alongside a capacity to share this effectively with students of all ages this is the job for you.

The successful candidate will:

· Be confident in their knowledge of the English Subject Review and the recent English Report and its implications for curriculum, assessment and pedagogy.

· Read widely, to stay up to date about current issues and developments in English teaching and learning

· Have outstanding subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

· Be an active member of the English team and wider 'Global Faculty'

· Be fastidious, analytical and proactive in using formative assessment data to inform teaching

· Believe in the potential and growth of all students, actively promoting growth mindset and metacognitive approaches

· Be able to work with a blended curriculum and be flexible in your teaching methods and approaches.

· Be creative, persistent and resilient in supporting students

· Be committed to developing enrichment opportunities for students

. Be committed to growing the Academy's reading culture

· Have the ability to reflect on students' progress and create schemes of work that are informed by fine data and observed need

· Be passionate about teaching and learning and willing to innovate strategies to secure progress for all

· Be a champion of the use of student ICT to enhance learning

· Be able to use their own initiative.

Lostock Hall Academy is first and foremost a happy school. Students behave well and have a good attitude to learning in the classroom.
