HICA at Home (Grimsby) has a part time contract available for a dedicated and professional individual to join our team in the position of Care Supervisor.

The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Pay & Hours:

  • Rate of pay: £12.56 per hour
  • Hours of work: 24 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern – Working to a rota covering 7 days per week.

The Role:

Based primarily at our offices in Grimsby, the successful applicant will have a crucial role in the delivery of our domiciliary care services within the local area, monitoring the delivery of the care provided as well as leading and providing support to the community-based support workers. Working as part of a core team, and reporting to the Registered Manager, the new Care Supervisor will also be required to develop/review care plans and undertake risk assessments when necessary to ensure the correct standards of support are maintained.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review care and support plans with the Service User and/or their representative to ensure individual care needs are met
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our services users and their family to ensure satisfaction of service and delivery to the expected quality
  • Ensure medication monitoring within the community, observation of staff administering medication and dealing with any medication-related concerns which may arise
  • To carry out staff supervisions in the community when required, including medication and moving & handling assessments
  • Provide response to emergency care cover when required
  • Supporting on-call as and when required
  • Maintain accurate electronic and written records in line with HICA's policies and the Data Protection Act 2018
  • Provide expert guidance and advice in areas of expertise to our homecare workers and supervisors as required

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Prior working experience of providing support within a care setting, administering medication and using equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A working knowledge of risk assessment and support planning
  • Knowledge of person-centred approach
  • Level 2/3 Diploma in Care or another relevant qualification i.e. Care Certificate (desirable)

About you:

Applicants must have access to their own transport to ensure they are able to attend any community based work required, and shall receive a fuel allowance. Candidates should be flexible as this role requires working some weekends on a rota basis.

HICA at Home in Grimsby is one of 3 lead providers within North East Lincolnshire. We currently deliver approximately 2800 hours of community-based care per week in our geographical areas. These are Five ways, Cleethorpes, Humberston and New Waltham, covering all aspects of personal care, medication administration, shopping, domestic and sitter service.

We deliver one-to-one support services and also support HICA Care homes with services.

HICA is a 'Not for Profit' organisation providing a range of care services to older people and people with learning difficulties both within residential and nursing homes and within the community.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check .
