About The Role
Salary: £40,574 + appealing OTE
Overtime rate: Double rate on weekends (from 10pm Friday to 6am Monday), 1.5x rate on weekdays
Please note: Overtime is voluntary.
About the role
Located at the Port of Grangemouth, this presents an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our busy Engineering team, contributing to our daily engineering operations and advancing within the industry. In this role, you will work with a diverse range of machinery and equipment across the Port, ensuring each day brings new challenges.
Main responsibilities include:
- Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within the Port, covering ship to shore cranes, straddle carriers, distribution networks, and lock gate infrastructure.
- Installation and upkeep of LV electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, and control circuits.
- Completion of training as an Authorised Person for the operation and maintenance of HV distribution equipment.
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of plant equipment and associated diagrams to minimize downtime during repairs.
- Reporting any damage or misuse to Supervisors and coordinating with operational staff to communicate repair timelines.
What are we seeking?
- We require a qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician with prior experience in an industrial setting. Proficiency in AC/DC control systems, PLCs, and HV/LV systems is advantageous.
- Given our work environment on quaysides, warehouses, and other Port structures, the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors is crucial.
- You will work 37.5 hours per week on a partial shift basis, encompassing varying day and rotational shifts. Additional shift allowance is provided for rostered shifts.
- Flexibility in working hours is necessary, with regular overtime and participation in on-call schedules. A valid UK driving license is a prerequisite for inter-port travel.

- Expertise in maintaining and repairing DC motor control equipment, AC motor starting equipment, DC control systems, automotive repairs, PLC controls, HV and LV networks, and LV cable connections
- Valid driving license is mandatory
