My client is a Civil Engineering Tier Two subcontractor who also act as a main contractor on various projects. They work primarily on major infrastructure projects providing groundworks and civil engineering expertise.

Sectors include residential, commercial, public, technology, infrastructure and data centre markets offering a broad range of services including civil engineering, utilities and construction.


This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who is looking for a role that can offer stability, and the opportunity to have a real say in the health and safety team.

They are looking for a Health and Safety manager to oversee both the UK and international arms of the business.

This role has come about due to strategic growth, Within this role, you will be reporting to the Compliance Director and working very closely with the Operations Director, both Directors are approachable individuals, switched on, and easy to work with.

Manage & provide support to Project teams in the development Plans.

  • Carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and workplaces to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Processes and the relevant Statutory Provisions.
  • Carry out site inductions and other training as required.
  • Lead & partake in accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company process and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
  • Manage, collate & review Business / Project HSEQ statistics in a timely manner and submit to the HSEQ Department for reporting purposes. Identify significant HSEQ issues for projects and help set-up projects to include appropriate controls.
  • For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £70,000 to £90,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined on experience and suitability. On top of this, you will have the opportunity to be treated as a name, not a number, and bring real value to the Health & Safety department, develop the department how you see fit, and start to build and grow a team.


To be considered for this position it is important you have experience working on Civil Engineering projects, ideally highways but this isn't essential.

It is also preferred you come from a site background and have moved into a health & safety position, holding qualifications such as a NEBOSH in Construction.
