Laboratory Technician, SOCOTEC,Bretby
To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Environment and Safety Dust and Gas Laboratories which specialises in the testing and analysis of Occupational/Fugitive Dust, environmental gas and energy samples . SOCOTEC provides a comprehensive range of environmental monitoring and consultancy services to help companies fulfil their legal obligations and to comply with environmental regulations. Our expert field teams provide national coverage and tailored services.
We're looking for Laboratory Technician to deal with samples submitted to the Occupational Hygiene, Fugitive Dust and Gas Laboratories who will be responsible for:
- Media and kit preparation for both fugitive and occupational dust requirements
- Undertake a range of environmental and chemistry analytical activities including preparation of media, filtering of samples, pH, Conductivity and suspended solids recording temperatures and other activities supporting the quality control process.
- Using Gas Chromatography to analyse a range of gas samples.
- Carry out tasks as assigned by Lab Supervisor to ensure that the customer's samples are received, analysed, and reported in a timely and efficient manner in line with documented procedures.
- Maintain good laboratory practice at all times, following methods, standard operating procedures, local rules and regulations, maintain equipment and safe working procedures
- Be aware of and conform to the laboratory quality system, specifically UKAS (ISO17025) requirements
- Project a professional, courteous image and support the business culture and codes of practice at all times
