We have a vacancy for a permanent full time Project Structural Engineer to join our growing structural team based in our Dunfermline office.

At ACS we work closely with our sister company AC Architects and other leading architects and specialist contractors who specialise in designing bespoke residential projects utilising modern methods of construction.

ACS work collaboratively with ambitious and informed clients to deliver design focused high performing sustainable self-build homes and housing developments as well as challenging conversions of existing churches and steadings.

ACA and ACS share a recently modernised open plan office with the latest technology including VR station allowing clients to fully visualise their projects.

As a senior member of the design team your responsibilities will include preparing and overseeing calculation and drawing packages and assisting with management of project team resources.

You will have experience in domestic scale projects, with a background in timber design and modern methods of construction a distinct advantage.

  • MEng or BEng Qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with Architecture.
  • 4-8 years' experience working on smaller scale architecturally led projects.
  • Actively training towards ICE or IStructE chartership is an advantage, but not a requirement of the role.
  • Experience with Tekla software packages, including TEDDS for Word.

You will support and be guided by our senior team, carrying out detailed structural design and analysis on our bespoke residential portfolio.

With support and guidance, you will be given the opportunity to take ownership of your own projects.

  • Ability to lead your own projects and produce structural design calculations and mark-ups.
  • Manage project delivery, with regular and effective communication with the Client and project team
  • Maintain and establish professional relationships with key strategic specialist contractors and consultants
  • Assist with applying and regularly evaluating established ACS project process to maximise efficiency and Client satisfaction
  • To maintain continuing professional development and work towards becoming an expert in modern methods of construction

The role will offer flexible hybrid working, allowing up to two days of remote working with the remainder office-based at our Dunfermline office.

As we specialise in the self-build sector, our projects are often remotely located and spread across the UK necessitating an ability to travel.
