Digital Waffle, a dynamic company operating in the North East and Scotland, is seeking a motivated and dedicated HV & LV Cable Jointer/ Fitter to join our team on a 12-month contract basis.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the installation and connection of various cables, accessories, and substation switchgear/plant associated with the distribution network.
Responsibilities:
- Install and terminate HV & LV cables, switchgear, earthing, heavyduty cutouts, MSDB's, as well as small power and lighting.
- Ensure costeffective and efficient use of resources at the worksite.
- Execute installations in accordance with quality assurance, engineering design, time constraints, statutory requirements, and relevant standards.
- Follow established work safety practices, distribution safety rules, and environmental regulations.
- Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations.
- Work in compliance with Method statements, Risk Assessments, and conduct pointofwork risk assessments (POWRA).
- Install package substations/switchgear and GRP Housings.
- Successfully pass audits on completed works.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard management to ensure worksite safety.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
- Certificate of Competency/Qualification for DNO's, IDNO's Electrician or Electrical Fitter.
- Driving license.
- Manual Handling Certificate
Ideally, you will also have:
- Formal trade qualification in HV/LV cable jointing (apprentice served).
- CSCS Qualification.
- Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate.
- MEWP/PASMA Certificate.
- Confined space training.
- Asbestos Awareness.
