We have new opportunities to become Driving Instructors on our Great Northern Route at our Hornsey, Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City Depots.


As a Driver Instructor, along with your day to day duties as a Driver, you will need to provide clear focus on developing and coaching new drivers, as well as qualified drivers needing development.


You will be expected to:

  • Deliver a high quality train service to customers ensuring safety standards are met or exceeded.
  • Coach, support and assess Trainee and post qualification drivers to meet and exceed competency standards
  • Provide support to driver line managers

You should possess the following:

  • Minimum 3 years Driving post qualified
  • Ability to guide and coach a team
  • Must be capable of communicating effectively by any means
  • Capable of retaining knowledge in order to participate in the programme of continuous assessment associated with train driving.
