Role summary


Working in the Finance team, your role is to maintain the sales, purchase, and cash ledgers of the companies in the Ethical Power Group in a timely and accurate way.

This will require someone with excellent organisational skills and the ability to commit to and meet agreed deadlines.

  • 37.5 hours per week.

Main responsibilities

  • Maintaining the accounts mailbox, actioning received invoices, statements, and queries in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Managing the approvals process for supplier invoices and recording these on Sage.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Generating the payment run, ensuring all suppliers are paid in a timely manner. Running the remittances from Sage and sending these out to suppliers.
  • Preparing the monthly payroll documentation for the payroll provider and processing the payroll journals.
  • Preparing the monthly CIS return and answering all supplier CIS queries.
  • Completing monthly credit card and bank reconciliations.
  • Raising purchase orders and making card payments over the phone when required.
  • Raising sales invoices within sage and distributing these to the relevant department.
  • Processing and checking weekly expenses ready for payment.
  • Other administrative duties including answering the phones, opening mail, scanning, and filing.

Essential criteria:

  • Ability to work with colleagues in a small team.
  • Excellent organisational skills. Ability to complete tasks to agreed deadlines.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience with Sage 50, specifically sales ledger, purchase ledger and bank.
  • Exposure to a multicurrency environment.
  • Experience working in the construction industry.
