On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for a Senior Automation Engineer (Perl) based in Edinburgh (Hybrid-Remote, 4 days every 12 weeks in the office) for an initial contract length of 4 Months (with possibility of extension).

Job description - the role

Key responsibilities:

  • Write, test, and maintain automation scripts using Perl, Python, and Shell Scripting to streamline deployment and operational processes.
  • Utilize Autosys for job scheduling, ensuring efficient and reliable execution of batch processes and workflows.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, facilitating continuous integration and delivery of applications.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-based applications and services on AWS, ensuring robust and scalable infrastructure.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Perform code reviews and implement test-driven development practices to ensure the quality and reliability of automation scripts and systems.

Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in automation engineering, with a strong focus on Perl Scripting and deployment.
  • Proficiency in Perl & Python, with significant experience in Shell Scripting and Bash.
  • Demonstrated experience with Autosys for job scheduling and automation.
  • Solid experience in CI/CD deployment using tools like Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including navigating the AWS console and deploying cloud-based applications.
  • Strong operating system capabilities with both Windows and Linux Servers.
