Physician Associate

About the Role:

GP Healthcare Alliance, a local federation of GP practices in South East Essex, is working in partnership with the local primary care networks to support the delivery of the NHS England, Direct Enhanced Service (DES) contract.

We are looking to recruit a physician associate to cover the Southend West Central Primary Care Network, which is made up of the following practices:

• Prince Avenue Surgery
• The Valkyrie Surgery
• Southend Medical Centre
• Dr Bekas Medical Centre
• Scott Park Surgery

The post-holder will be a core member of the multidisciplinary team, working alongside clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, mental health practitioners and care coordinators.

This role will involve supporting patients, with chronic disease management and acute conditions, within general practice.

This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week. All flexible offers and working arrangements will be considered.
- be a qualified physician associate with a postgraduate diploma/master in physician associate (formally physician assistant), with a bachelor degree in life science/biomedical/nursing or allied health science.
- be a member of the Faculty of Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR).
- have experience working as a physician associate in hospital, community or primary care setting.

GP Healthcare Alliance is a company, originally formed as a GP Federation, made up of 18 practices who work together to provide healthcare for our practices and patients, in Castle Point, Rochford and Rayleigh, Essex.

All practice members remain independent contractors, but work collaboratively to improve healthcare services within our area.

We work with local NHS clinicians in the delivery of the services, thereby supporting the retention of strength and depth within the local NHS clinical teams.
