Programme Planning Manager

We are seeking a talented Programme Planning Manager to join the most efficient single-runway airport globally. As a member of a collaborative team, you'll have the chance to have a significant impact on the implementation of a substantial investment plan focused on the development and enhancement of our airport infrastructure and amenities.

You'll play a key role in our airport's future success, collaborating closely with our Programme Manager to accomplish the strategic goals and objectives of the business. Your main focus will be on creating, executing, and ensuring efficient planning and assurance processes across a program of projects usually ranging from £50m to £150m.

What does the role entail?

Under the supervision of the Lead Planning Manager, you'll be instrumental in guiding the planning of projects throughout all stages of their lifecycle, from concept validation to execution and conclusion. Your goal is to guarantee that performance targets are not merely met but consistently exceeded and met within deadlines.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing schedules for the entire project journey, covering internal and external connections. This involves overseeing the control programs from project conception to completion, handling contract program assessments, evaluating compensation events, performing delay analysis, and aiding in enhancing schedules within our supply chain
  • Playing a significant role in leading and overseeing planning teams for the program. You'll leverage your expertise and skills over multiple projects to support us in achieving our strategic objectives.
  • Aiding in the growth of the planning team by contributing to standards development, managing, inspiring, coaching, and guiding team members. You'll be enthusiastic about assisting talented individuals in reaching their full potential.
  • Assessing the Programme, contributing to trend and change processes, reporting, risk management, and identifying ways to boost efficiency that could positively impact program results and your teams' performance.
  • Continuously upholding and promoting world-class health, safety, and environmental standards across the program and its contractors. We strive for health, safety, and environmental excellence.

What are we seeking?

  • Prior experience in planning infrastructure projects as a Senior Planner on multi-year programs within the construction or infrastructure sectors working on projects/programs generally exceeding £50 million.
  • Previous experience in leading small teams.
  • Extensive familiarity with Primavera P6 and associated business acumen
  • Proven experience in effectively communicating with various stakeholders to convey complex or abstract ideas clearly.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, alongside the ability to motivate, coach, facilitate, and create learning opportunities for others.
