  • Support the reverse engineering of vehicle data by analyzing data and refining existing processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and data engineering, to define requirements and ensure seamless integration between vehicle systems and the platform, considering performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Lead root cause analysis for issues, collaborating with the team to implement effective solutions and improve tools and workflows.
  • Define the overall architecture of vehicle systems during investigations, determining the interaction of subsystems, component layout, and information flow.
  • Take ownership of technical projects, contributing to their execution and successful outcomes.
  • Manage and perform system validation and verification activities to ensure all components meet safety, reliability, and performance standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on vehicle systems, acting as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Break down large engineering projects into manageable tasks that can be completed in parallel, collaborating with the team.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the application and functionality of the device and how specific firmware modules interact with vehicles.
  • Mentor team developers, collaborate with management to set team direction, guide key stakeholders on execution choices, and provide management with insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all areas of responsibility.

What You'll Bring To This Role

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) with vehicle systems, including sensors, actuators, control systems, diagnostics, and electrical/communications architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle architecture, embedded systems, and CAN bus communication protocols.
  • Expertise in vehicle diagnostics through OBD-II (J1979) and J1939, with a comprehensive understanding of communication standards such as KWP and UDS.
  • Proficient in automotive software architectures for ECU development, particularly AUTOSAR, focusing on the application layer and functional clusters.
  • Understanding of Automotive Ethernet and DoIP.
  • Acquainted with legacy vehicle communication systems, including ISO 9141, ISO 14230, SAE J1850, and J1708.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a talent for solving problems and making sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven project management skills with a history of successfully delivering projects.
  • Ability to think strategically and foresee future technology developments.
  • Competence in creating SQL queries and Python scripts to analyze data from Google BigQuery, assessing device health and new functionalities.
  • Dedication to keeping up with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying best practices, and implementing innovative solutions to improve systems.
