Role DescriptionnThis is a full-time on-site role for a Technical Manager located in Harwich, Essex.
This role reports to the Group Head of Technical and is responsible for ensuring that product quality, processing systems and factory practices are maintained at the company's high standards.
DutiesnDeputise the Group Head of TechnicalnLead and advise the site teams on statutory regulations and company standards relating to good manufacturing practice, food safety, quality and environmental hygiene;nPromote and develop technical service competency and continuously challenge and improve technical operational effectiveness;nProvide and drive Food Safety culture on site.nEnsure quality management systems, operating practices and process controls are developed, implemented and adhered to by staff to deliver consistent quality performance and good manufacturing practice;nDevelop initiatives which enhance the manufacturing operation through reduced costs and improved quality particularly in areas such as process monitoring and control;nNaturally work towards KPI's.
These will include:
consumer complaints, audit performance, extrinsic and internal (including BRC, Organic, FEMAS, and retailer audits), pest control, hygiene % compliance to schedule, training and development of team;nLiaise in professional manner with customers in matters of a technical nature;nLiaise with suppliers on all aspects of technical nature;nLiaise with local and national authorities regarding site and food safety, customer complaints and environmental issue;nWrite up and verify product specifications.
QualificationsnAnalytical Skills:
Ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions
nTeam Management:
at least a minimum of 5 years' experience in leading and managing teams towards achieving common goals
nTechnical Support:
Strong technical knowledge and ability to provide support and guidance to technical teams
nProject Management:
Proven track record in managing projects from initiation to completion.nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
nExperience in the food industry is a plus or similar environmentnBachelor's degree in a relevant field / a food science qualificationnHACCP level 3 or 4nLead auditor trainingnSound knowledge of BRC
