An exciting opportunity to lead the NHS Lanarkshire Physiotherapy Service within Mental Health, working across community and in patients.

UK/EU/EEA drivers licence is essential for the post.

Job Purpose


The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist, whilst managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge.


The post holder will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process increasing the focus on health promotion and self management.


The post holder will provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers within and out with the service.


The post holder will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes.


Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job
First level Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent or equivalent masters in rehabilitation sciences leading to physiotherapy HPC registration.

Current HPC Registration

Education to/working towards/operating at Masters level


Post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.

Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.


Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the speciality.
