Vacancy - Material Handling Operative

  • Are you excited by the opportunity to develop you skills and work on a range of plant and machinery? Do you want to work for one of the UKs leading Port operators? We are seeking a Material Handling Operative to join our team at the Port of Liverpool and help keep the world moving
    Your Role
  • As a Material Handling Operative, you will operate the company's plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You, ensure that all checks, audits and other paperwork are completed accurately and on time. Inspecting company plant and equipment for damage, you will report any incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences or damages to the Steel and General Cargo Operations Supervisor without delay. You will carry out cleaning duties to ensure company machinery and working areas are kept clean and in line with Peel Ports' H&S standards.
    What you'll bring
  • You will ideally have previous experience working within an industrial general cargo/bulk handling or logistics and warehousing environment, with the ability to operate fork lift trucks MT), payloaders, skid steers and cranes (gantry, ship and shore). Experience driving mobile harbour cranes would be beneficial.
  • You will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively and be adaptable to change in a fastpaced environment. A commitment to maintaining Health and Safety standards, as well as demonstrating compliance to safety policies and procedures is key. A full valid driving licence is essential for this role.
