Job summary

Succession partnership for small friendly practice in Chelsea.

Our long term partner is retiring and we are looking for a keen,friendly individual to take on the role. Initially as a salaried post leadingto partnership after a 6 month probationary period.

Minimum 5 sessions of patient care and 1 session as clinical lead forquality improvement and clinical leadership.

FTE profits in excess of GP average. Supported by a well-established.

Main duties of the job

Routine GP work for 5 sessions and one session for quality improvementactivities. Energetic individual to bring ideas yet someone who believes inpatient centred holistic care. As a small practice you will regularly be theonly GP in the building but there is support with very experienced staff. Youshould be happy to be the senior clinician in the building.

About us

Small friendly team with attached pharmacist and physician associate. Weare trying to move LTC monitoring, repeat prescribing etc. to our ARRS staff sothat GPs are more patient facing and can spend more time with patient issuesrather than undertaking paperwork. We also have a very strong community supportteam working with the practice to look after elderly high frailty index patientsand this is working well.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.

Undertake all the duties associated with the role of a General Practitioner required by the GMS/PMS contract

2.

Comply with all the objectives of the GMS/PMS Contract

3.

Support and contribute to the development of Practice clinical procedures and protocols

4.

Accurate and timely input of patient data onto the clinical system

5.

Carrying out clinical audit as appropriate

6.

Completion of reports for solicitors, insurance companies and others

7.

Liaise with other health care professionals when required

8.

Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patient / Practice relationship

9.

Take an active role and contribute to Practice meetings

10.

Take on Lead responsibilities in any agreed area of Practice management

11.

Support the development and compliance of the Practice Health and Safety policy

12.

Take on Lead responsibilities in any agreed area of clinical management

13.

Participate in the GP appraisal scheme

14.

Attend Practice training sessions whenever possible

15.

Maintain medical currency in line with your Personal Development Plan

16.

Contribute to the development and improvement of the Practice

17.

Comply with the requirements of the Partnership Agreement

18.

Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified GP MRCGP. Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP. General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT). Full GMC Registration. National Performers List registration. Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU). Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.

Desirable

Minor surgery Working with SystmOne Use of Read Codes Clinical audit

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in a primary care environment. Experience of continued professional development. Experience of QOF and clinical audit. Minimum of two years as a salaried/locum GP. Experience of medicines management. Experience of CCG initiatives. General understanding of the GMS contract. Clinical Knowledge & Skills. Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skill commensurate with that of an experienced GP.

Desirable

Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Strong IT skills. Clear, polite telephone manner. Competent in the use of Office and Outlook / SystmOne. Effective time management (Planning & Organising). Ability to work as a team member and autonomously. Excellent interpersonal skills. Problem solving & analytical skills. Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure. Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes. Experience with clinical risk management.
